Waters D2 deuterium lamps provide stable UV spectrum ranging from 190 nm to 400 nm, designed for UV and PDA detection in liquid chromatography. The tungsten lamp supplies visible light spectrum for photometric measurement. All lamps are strictly tested before shipment to match original optical specifications, light intensity and service life. The rated operating life of deuterium lamps can reach up to 2000 hours. The 2998 version comes with RFID chip for instrument identification, while 2489 is the non-RFID version.
When your Waters instrument suffers low light intensity, baseline drift, increased noise or lamp error alerts, lamp replacement is required. Power off the detector and wait for the lamp to fully cool down before replacement. Wear clean gloves and avoid touching the lamp window directly, fingerprints and grease will reduce light transmittance and shorten lamp life. After installation, run wavelength calibration and baseline validation, reset lamp runtime counter.
